Cupers Cove Soiree
The Annual Cupids Cupers Cove Soiree takes place on the third weekend of August. The very first Soiree occurred in 1993 and has been enjoyed by all ever since. Our Cupers Cove Soiree Song was written by our local resident Mr. Harold Clarke. The festival is held on Pointe Beach in the centre of Town. There are adult dances, folk festivals featuring local groups, children’s entertainers, carnival rides, games of chance, great local food, Mr. & Mrs. Soiree Pageant and fireworks. We have ten dedicated committee members who work hard to organize the event each year, and volunteers who donate their time to help out the Committee, which is very much appreciated! If you would like to become one of our volunteers, please contact the Cupids Town Office at (709) 528-4428. Come and have a great weekend with us!
Perchance Theatre at Cupids
Perchance Theatre is the province’s only professional, classical theatre company. For over ten years Perchance has performed its own brand of entertainment nestled in the woods at the head of the Burnthead Loop Trail in Cupids. With a focus on the power of words, ideas, and epic stories, we are building a new hub of inspiration and creation at Perchance.
Perchance Theatre was listed #1 of the six most Unique Ways to Experience Shakespeare in Canada by UK In Canada Magazine.
Cupids Legacy Centre
The Cupids Legacy Centre was built in 2010 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the establishment of the first English settlement in Canada here in Cupids, on the island of Newfoundland. It houses a state-of-the-art exhibit that illuminates the rich historical and cultural narrative of Cupids and the Conception Bay North area, more than 160,000 artifacts recovered by archaeologists from the Cupids Cove Plantation Provincial Historic Site, an archaeology field laboratory, a full-service reception hall, a Family History Resource Centre, a rooftop Faerie Garden, and our Museum Shop.
